Iran’s Wheat Export 7 Folded

TEHRAN (FNA)- The export of wheat from Iran increased by 758 percent compared to the last year while its import is banned which shows the self-sufficiency of this strategic product in Iran and makes a positive trade balance for the country.

 

According to the latest statistics of Iranian ministry of agriculture, during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 22-November 22, 2017) Iran exported more than 276,410 tons of various types of wheat with the value of $70,780 million have been exported to the different countries.

This export volume shows an increase of 1351.73 percent in weight and 758.98 percent in value compared to the same period in 2016.

The UAE, Iraq, Turkey and South Korea followed China in terms of Iranian imports while China, UAE, South Korea and Turkey are also major importers to Iran.
