Habib Jahansaz, the head of the country's Tea Organization, commented on the increase in tea prices: "Part of the price hike is related to the raw materials and green leaves purchased from tea producers, as well as the production costs incurred by the factories."
He added, "The price of green leaves has not seen significant growth over the years, so it was not profitable for tea producers to enter the gardens. Therefore, considering the recent increase in production costs, we have made the price of green leaves more balanced."
The head of the Tea Organization addressed the issue in a radio interview, stating, "The guaranteed purchase price of one kilogram of green tea leaves for tea producers has been announced at 13,990 tomans, which represents a 52% increase compared to last year. The price of one kilogram of second-grade green leaves has also reached 11,500 tomans, with a 62% increase."
